How to make Mutton Leg soup:

  • Take the chopped mutton legs into a pressure cooker and thoroughly clean and wash them in the clean water and drain the water.
  • Now add 2 – 3 cups of water into the pressure cooker, along with turmeric powder & close the lid and cook it till 5 – 6 whistles on a medium-high flame.
  • Meanwhile finely chop the onions, slit green chillies, and coriander leaves.
  • Grate some fresh coconut and keep it aside.
  • Once the cooker is cool down naturally, open the lid and separate the broth and the mutton legs.

How to cook Mutton Leg Soup | Mutton Paya:

  • Heat oil in a different cooking pot on a medium flame.
  • Add all your whole garam masalas and sauté them until aromatized and add finely chopped onions & slit green chillies and saute them until transparent.
  • Now add the pressure cooked mutton legs excluding the broth into the hot pot.
  • Saute them for few more mins and add ginger garlic paste along with turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.

    How to prepare Mutton Leg Soup

  1. Take chopped mutton legs into a pressure cooker, clean and rinse in fresh water.
  2. After washing drain the water.
  3. Now add 2 cups of water and 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder and pressure cook the mutton legs for 5-6 whistle’s.
  4. Meanwhile organize rest all ingredients like whole black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, dry ginger pepper powder and grated coconut powder.
  5. Finely chop onions, coriander, mint and slit green and keep it ready.
  6. How to Cook Mutton Leg Soup

  7. Once done with pressure cooking the mutton legs off the flame and let it cool down.
  8. Open the lid and separate the cooked mutton legs and the broth into two different bowl.
  9. Heat oil in a different pot and add mustard seeds, jeera, cinnamon, cloves and black pepper.
  10. Sauté them until you get nice aroma.
  11. Now add finely chopped onions, slit green chilies and sauté them until transparent.
  12. Add the cooked mutton legs and sauté them for a couple of mins.
  13. Add ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, salt and mix everything well by stirring it occasionally.
  14. After sautéing for more 10 mins, add the Mutton leg broth and mix everything well.
  15. Get the mutton leg soup to boil and cook it for more 10 mins.
  16. Now add dry ginger pepper powder, coriander powder and grated coconut powder.
  17. Cook it until the raw flavor of the coconut goes off and get it to the right consistency.
  18. Taste the soup for seasoning and add if anything required.
  19. Once done add freshly chopped coriander and min, off the stove and close the lid and let it be closed for 5 mins.
  20. Scoop hot mutton leg soup into a soup bowl and serve it hot along with tandoori bread or roti or chapati.
